It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Asia Dry Eye Summit 2027, to be held in person on May 21 and 22, 2027, at Kumamoto-jo Hall in Kumamoto, Japan. We warmly invite members and non-members of the Asia Dry Eye Society from across Asia and around the world to join us for this special occasion.
Since its establishment in 2012, the Asia Dry Eye Society has brought together clinicians and researchers from China, Korea, Japan, Singapore, and many other countries and regions. Even during the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, our community remained strongly connected. Rather than allowing the pandemic to interrupt our activities, we rapidly adapted and continued the Summit in an online format from 2020 onward. This experience demonstrated the strength, resilience, and close bonds of our society.

Our overarching mission is to promote collaboration among academia, industry, and government, thereby advancing dry eye research and improving clinical care. Through these collaborative efforts, we aim to translate scientific discoveries into better diagnostic and therapeutic approaches that can benefit patients throughout Asia and beyond. We also hope that the activities of our society will inspire researchers, clinicians, and related organizations around the world and serve as a catalyst for further innovation in the field of dry eye.

It is a great honor to welcome you to Kumamoto, where leading clinicians, scientists, and researchers in the field of dry eye will gather to share the latest scientific and clinical advances. We hope that the Summit will provide a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas, build new collaborations, renew friendships, and work together to shape the future of dry eye research and patient care.
